Cinematheque Center Iloilo
Cinematheque Center Iloilo of the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) is an unpretentious facility in Iloilo City’s bustling downtown area. It is a popular go-to place for Ilonggo artists, art students, educators, and cultural workers to exhibit artworks, view avant-garde films, and learn from arts and cultural talks.

Since then the Cinematheque Iloilo catalyzed the revitalization of the Iloilo arts scene through its theater and gallery which became spaces to acquire artistic experience from independent films produced by local, national, and international filmmakers; art and cultural events; talks by visiting artists, personalities, academics, and diplomats; art exhibits; and as a venue for social interaction and intellectual discourse.
The Cinematheque Center earned its role as a movant for art expression by matching film programming with local solo or group art exhibits, literary events, or fora that bring up artistic insights and perspectives on relevant socio-political happenings of the moment.

Post-pandemic, the Cinematheque Center Iloilo resumed its function as a facilitator of Iloilo’s art development by reintroducing the youth to award-winning Ilonggo filmmakers like Nick Deocampo, exercising the diplomatic role of films through different foreign film festivals, and gathering the works of emerging young artists for a group show in its gallery.
All of these events serve to reaffirm FDCP’s mission of keeping the Cinematheque a viable and accessible venue for artistic expression.
