“Life etches itself onto our faces as we grow older, showing our violence, excesses or kindnesses.”
– Rembrandt Van Rijn
Through weeks of preparation, Class 9 Sabila have tried to practice their skills in keen observation, precision, and cautious execution, through the rendering of Rembrandt’s works in black and white.
It has been many days of hard work that have been put into this project, where they have taken care to observe the exact shades of light and shadow seen falling upon the smooth cheek of a girl, or upon the frowning brows of an old man.

From creating the grid, to the final stroke of the brush, the Class 9 have made this journey and have honed capacities, new and old, within themselves. They hope this exhibit will reveal their inner talents as well as the emerging personalities with which they have proudly decorated upon their canvases.
