Thrive Art Gallery to exhibit works of Llarena and Brasileño
The Thrive Art Gallery at The Shops at Atria will feature the works of Roland Llarena and Kristoffer Brasileño in a back-to-back show entitled Hamúok and Nocturne. It will open June 22, 2024.
The title, Hamúok, is drawn from the Hiligaynon word for “deep slumber”. Roland Llarena, a full-time artist, meticulously visualizes his waking reality – a world saturated with news of war, environmental destruction, and collective anxieties. Hamuok is the artist’s way of documenting the unseen realm where these external stimuli bleed into the artist’s subconscious, manifesting in unexpected forms.
Nocturne, on the other hand, will show Kristoffer Brasileño’s collection of dreamscapes, where the boundaries between imagination and reality blur. Drawing inspiration from the alluring world of Surrealism, Brasileño invites us to explore dreamlike imagery and symbolic elements composed of muses veiled by fabrics against the backdrop of enigmatic landscapes, and nature reflecting the wilderness of the unconscious mind.
Thrive Art Gallery is an experimental art space dedicated to organizing exhibitions, workshops, and community-engaged activities. The gallery is open Tuesdays to Friday from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Saturday to Sunday from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM
